Freeze Frames: Winning Snow Photography
Being surrounded by snow-capped mountains, we Kitsap and Olympic Peninsula residents are treated to a year-round panorama of nature’s most scenic snow white frosting.
Local dustings turn our backyards into picture postcards, and the patterns of nature don’t end there.
Just looking out the window, the snow never fails to impress, inspiring the amateur photo hobbyist and all-pro “shooter” to capture the moment as a “freeze-frame.”
This unique collection of photos reveals how snow is truly a shape-shifter, taking on the form of its host surroundings. Sometimes it follows a path to wherever it may lead. Other times it fills in the most intricate cracks and spaces. Snow can even act like a mirror reflecting whatever it touches.
