Not An Ordinary Day at the Beach

It’s summer and the living is easy. From Point No Point in Kingston, to Fort Worden State Park in Port Townsend, to Ruby Beach in the Olympic National Park, there are many ways to spend a sunny day among the surf and sand of our area beaches.
While gravel beaches are the most common kind in Puget Sound, the soft, fine blanket of white sand at Long Beach on the Pacific coast or Dye’s Inlet here in Silverdale is as good a place as any to build a sand castle, or something even greater with your pail and shovel.

Just make sure you don’t mistake the incredible sand sculptures shown below for the real thing. That could scare you right back under your beach umbrella.
