The Story of Quality Heating
The history of cutting-edge technology companies that began, however modestly, inside a residential garage is legendary. Hewlett Packard was founded in David Packard’s garage in Palo Alto, Ca., Apple Computer was founded in the garage of Steve Jobs’ childhood home in Los Altos, and Google, Inc., traces its origins to a garage in Menlo Park, Ca.
On the Olympic Peninsula in Western Washington, in the burgeoning Pacific Northwest community of Silverdale, surrounded by the snow-capped Olympic mountains, and neighboring both the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton and the Naval Submarine Base Bangor at Keyport, a different kind of technology company was founded inside the garage of Scott H. Park.
Scott launched Quality Heating, Electrical and Air Conditioning in November of 1995, making it the original HVAC technology company in the Silverdale community specializing in both residential and commercial heating, ventilation and cooling systems as well as electrical services.
The company brought on its first employee in January of 1996, adding office staff in March and June of that year and growing steadily ever since.
Co-owner Park was the original founding partner and CEO. With over 25 years of HVAC experience, Scott oversaw sales, administration, service & installation. Mike McElroy, the original technical services director and a co-owner, applied his electrical administration and journeyman licenses for the company. Mr. McElroy passed away in 2021. Other key personnel for the firm included Tori Conklin, a product consultant and advisor, and Adam Derr, a technical specialist and design consultant. Mr. Derr was named General Manager in November of 2021. The well trained staff of Quality senior HVAC technicians and installers is NATE-certified.
The familiar mobile fleet of white Quality Heating service vans can be frequently spotted traveling throughout our company’s service area, from Bainbridge Island to Bremerton and Gig Harbor, and from Port Townsend to Port Orchard and Shelton, Wa.
The company’s original designation as an American Standard Customer Care™ Dealer demonstrated that it was recognized from the outset as authorized sales and service agents for the first of many national and international brands, from American-made Coleman and A.O. Smith, to international manufacturers like Daikin.
Quality added new product lines of standby power generators in 2010 supported by its licensed, in-house team of skilled electricians. The firm added a ductless line (Mitsubishi and Fujitsu) in 2011. It is recognized as a Premier Daikin 3D Dealer.
Committed to the leading edge of technology such as the Daikin ATMOSPHERA ductless line of HVAC systems using the R-32 low global warming potential (GWP) standard of refrigerant, the company is at the forefront of home comfort systems and commercial HVAC solutions, including ductless, tankless, VRV and VRF systems as well as geothermal heating and cooling systems, many featuring network access via wireless technology and Internet-configured, “Smart home” design.
